As the new term of university is set to begin and a whole new batch of undergraduates prepare to start their student life, the importance of ensuring the correct level of home insurance cover has been highlighted.
Research conducted by M&S Money has revealed that a typical student owns, among other things, an mp3 player, laptop or personal DVD player.
And therefore, it is important for such individuals to ensure that they have sufficient cover for their belongings, the organisation noted.
Head of general insurance at M&S Money Steve Price said: "Insurance may be the last thing on students' minds as they prepare for the new academic year. It often feels like an unnecessary expense on top of everything else."
But should a break-in occur, then having relevant cover may prove to be a benefit, as the cost of replacing items would not fall squarely on the shoulders of the victim.
Indeed Sainsbury's Bank recently noted that students are "frequently" the target of burglaries.
InsureandGo provides great value home insurance protection.
