The cost of going on a skiing holiday has risen to new highs according to new research.
Prices of lift passes, hire of equipment and skiing lesson have gone up by 25 per cent when compared with the cost of two years ago, according to figures from the Post Office reported on World First.
Costs in Austria rose by 15 per cent, with the cost of a skiing holiday in Norway up by 13 per cent and nine per cent in Switzerland. Snow holidays to Canada went up a quarter in price.
Those who plan to jet off for a winter sports holiday might wish to make sure they are adequately insured should the worst happen and they have an accident on the slopes. Travel insurance against lost or damaged equipment could also be worth getting to make sure a broken ski doesn't spoil a trip.
Easier.com advise to avoid peak season and book at the last minute to get a better deal on your skiing trip, also pointing out that staying in catered accommodation may work out cheaper.
InsureandGo offer great value travel insurance.
